Let’s turn the clock back nine years and our agency was drowning in paperwork that created processes that bogged us down and were an administrative nightmare.
But a move of offices in 2010 set us on the road to a new way to do business – the move meant we had to decide what would come with us and what we could do without. At first it was hard to decide what to keep and what to throw out. It’s funny how attached you come to that old media kit or manilla folder of old media clips and notes.
When we really thought about it, most of our files were already stored digitally, though we were certainly still printing plenty of documents.
The final frontier
Fast forward to now and we are on the move again.
This time the load is much lighter, but we are still shedding old ways in favour of new, more nimble ones.
One of the biggest shifts is the move to the “cloud” for all our systems and files. Previously we relied on racks of servers that sat in a small dark room, whirring away to themselves, but to coincide with our big move, these will be switched off and we will become fully mobile.
This will allow us to work from anywhere with an internet connection: on the road, in a shared work space or from home.
It’s a brave new world that awaits us at Parramatta – we will have less to move and can work more productively supported by systems that will help us be more dynamic and service our clients more efficiently. We are excited to work in a space that is less cluttered and streamlined, where we are encouraged to use the technologies to support us to do the job we love.
What does it mean for our clients?
For our clients it will be business as usual, but we will encourage them to lighten their paper loads as well and look to news ways for them to do business.
