Sometimes it’s hard to realise it’s time to try something new. You can get stuck in the normal day to day, and if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it, right?
At HC we like to challenge ourselves from time to time and try something different if the opportunity presents itself.
A small example is our ongoing ad creative in some of the construction trade magazines. We refreshed it about a year ago, but last month we decided to do something completely different and go in a new direction.
Why? Well, why not? We felt like a change, we wanted to experiment with something out of the box and eye catching, especially in a magazine where every ad looks the same – key machinery shot, brand name and tagline.
So, we challenged ourselves, and after a bit of back and forth, we ended up with an ad we were really happy with, that looked different and we hope will cause people to stop, and have a read when flicking through the magazine.
Along with the new creative we’re also doing a social media push, with some paid Facebook ads targeting our key industries and we’ll experiment to see what engagement and leads we can create online.
The lesson here is, if you’ve got nothing to lose and everything to gain, you might as well give it a crack. And when you do, think about what else can you do with what you’ve learnt. Where else can this new direction take you?
