We all know 2020 has been one hell of a year, and one many of us are counting down for it to be over! But there has been some good in it and maybe these things should continue to fit in our lives in 2021…

Webinars and video calls – With face to face meetings and events a no-go this year, we’ve all had to pivot, find new ways to deliver insights and content, and stay connected. Webinars have been the way to go for connection, industry insights, data, news and training, and they’ve been super convenient. We’ve loved the video calls with interstate or busy clients we don’t usually see face to face – so yeah, let’s keep these in our daily lives next year.

Working from home – The work life balance that comes from working at home cannot be beat. I can enjoy (mostly) a 7.30am gym class and be back at my desk at 8.30am, ready to start the day with a buzz of endorphins – or do a load of washing on my lunch break making the most of a sunny day. Working from home has made us all appreciate flexible working, so let this be the gift to us all in 2021.

Focus on domestic travel – With international borders closed for the foreseeable future, now is the time to get out and explore our own backyard. Tourism Australia is pushing big for this, with their ‘Holiday here this year’ campaign featuring my favourite Aussie couple – Hamish Blake and Zoë Foster-Blake. I for one am looking forward to exploring more of what Australia has on offer and seeing the benefits this will bring to our domestic tourism economy.

Eating in – I loved seeing so many of my favourite restaurants and eateries switch to a focus on ‘at home eating’, with prepared meals, cooking kits and even DIY cocktails. Even with lockdown restrictions eased enough for most to still go out and enjoy a good meal, enjoying your favourite restaurant dinner in the comfort of your own home just can’t be beat. My pick? I’m loving Gelato Messina’s bake at home desserts.

What will stick for you in 2021?
