Everyone has their own way of working, and what brings out our best can look completely different. From early mornings to late nights, quiet focus to shared energy, we share how Team HC works best.
Sue – I work best early in the morning when the day feels wide open and full of possibility. The best ideas come to me when I’m in motion – walking, talking, driving, listening. Matched energy helps me work at my best. When people lean in, build on ideas and push them forward together, the outcomes are always better.
Kendi – I like a magical combination of just the right balance of pressure and inspiration to do my best work. Thankfully agency life, with multiple clients and projects, provides plenty of both.
Alex – If I’m working on something big that needs focused attention, I’ll usually put music straight in my ears to help me concentrate. I also find my best ideas tend to pop up when I’ve switched off, could be in bed, in the car, in the shower or out on a walk. And I love a team project where everyone’s role is clear and we all know what our next steps are.
Shereen – I’ve always been someone who thrives at night, so I tend to do my best work in the afternoons and evenings. I like ideas to percolate in my mind before putting pen to paper, and that usually happens during the day. Then once the evening hits, it’s all systems go and the words tend to flow.
Karen – Blocking out the noise works for me. I work best when I am focussed on the task at hand, and I am engaged in what I am trying to achieve. Yes, multitasking is a skill, but it does not usually produce the best results. Not always easy with every piece of technology designed to distract us, but working on it!
