Hardman Communications partnered with Agribusiness Australia and CPRA to deliver Ag Reimagined: Innovation, Youth and the Future of Regional Australia, at Charles Stuart University’s Bathurst campus. With an in-person and livestream audience we looked at how imagination, innovation and storytelling can shape the next chapter of Australian agriculture.
With our MD Sue Hardman behind the MC’s mic, the event created space for new voices and ideas to challenge the status quo and celebrate the potential of regional Australia.
The panel conversation was led by four diverse speakers, each bringing a unique perspective on what it means to reimagine agriculture:
- Dr Robbie Oppenheimer (LoamBio) urged the industry to “take carbon out of the air, and put it in the soil”, calling for measurable soil-carbon outcomes that link sustainability with profitability.
- Dr Fiona McKenzie (Orange Compass) explored imagination as a tool for regional transformation, noting that trust is essential before people can embrace new ideas.
- Brooke Watts, a CSU alumna gave voice to the next generation, highlighting the importance of belonging, mentoring and connection in keeping young people engaged in regional industries.
- Alex Greetham (Elders) reminded us that “ag is easy for ag people, but relationships are what make it thrive”, a powerful call to collaboration and shared purpose.
The whole HC team hit the road to be part of this event and we were delighted to see not only strong participation in the room and online, but also great media interest. The forum was covered on TV on 7News as well as in The Land (view here) and on regional radio.
We’re very proud to have been part of this regional event. By connecting bright ideas with the right people, stories and platforms, we help turn imagination into action.
