This year, we’ve each chosen a word to guide our focus and decision making. From building momentum to gaining perspective or protecting wellbeing, these words reflect what we want more of in 2026. Read on to see what we chose and why:
Sue – My word of the year is forward. Keeping focused and not getting distracted by things that don’t matter. Being clear about where I am heading and making decisions that support that direction. They may be bold moves or little steps, but all heading in the one direction. Forward.
Kendi – My word for 2026 is perspective – where can I offer it, how can I gain it, where can I take the opportunity to consider a different view.
Alex – This year, I’m focusing on energy. Building it physically through pilates and soccer, expanding it socially through new experiences and channelling it into my career and long-term financial goals.
Shereen – This year, my word is momentum, perfectly aligned with the Year of the Horse. For me, it’s about creating movement through consistent action. Clearing clutter at home. Using the candles that have sat untouched for years. Working through my TV and book lists. Booking appointments and catching up with people I’ve been meaning to see. Small steps that free up headspace, build energy and drive me toward bigger goals.
Karen – Wellbeing is my word for 2026. My active, ongoing maintenance of a “holistic state of being happy, healthy, and prosperous, encompassing physical, mental, emotional, and social health” involves diet, exercise, family and doing things that matter and that I enjoy, hopefully in equal measure.
